When your 2yrold child ruins every activity at a 4yrold's birthday party, throws endless fits because he hasn't had a nap, and has every other parent in the place staring daggers at you for not being able to get your shit together...take him into the party room and reward him with a solo juice and cookie party of his own. NEVER let horrid behavior go unrewarded.

ah, the things we'll do when we're desperate!
I'd like each and every one of those parents to tell you, with a straight face, that THEY have never been in that situation.
Liar, liar, big ole ass on fire!!
Have a juice box yourself. You deserve it.
(I'm so laughing at the Google Ads that popped up with this post.)
Been there, done that! I am laughing too because the Goodle adds below this post are perfect! too funny...
Yes ! Been There ! Hey what ever works right????
I just can't get past the juice box line.
You clearly don't listen to hip hop/rap music do you.
Google the "new" meaning of juice box, would ya.
I'm calling Supernanny for your ass. Somebody needs to go in the naughty corner.
Really, you need to write a book with that cutie on the cover! I have dagger scars!
the perfect parenting advice!!!! love it.
Oh how I have been there....Fun, fun! You handled it like a pro!
Oh my word I wish that would have worked for my 2 year old today! He was sooooo horrible at a family birthday party we left 2 hours early to save everyone the pain of the fits!
And they say that you are only suppose to reward good behavior. Hey, reward what ever makes the kids stay quiet.
Well, 2-year-olds who are tired and hungry don't seem to be able to reason or understand rational talk. The thing is to save the party, which you did. Yuck -- miserable experience, I am sure!
So that IS the right thing to do! Good, I was worried!!!
Hahah... who hasn't been there!
Just glad I am not the only one who goes through that. Desperate times call for desperate measures!
wise words from a desperate dad- my husband has been known to offer cash
It's all about choosing your battles! ;)
THAT adorable ANGEL threw a tantrum?
I refuse to believe it... look at him... in all that gorgeousness...
he didn't do anything... you were hallucinating...
Oh my gosh that is hilarious! SO true too! What can you do but "reward" them to keep them quite!! LOL LOVE IT! My daughter turned to in January so I'm feeling it lately too!
Great post and way of finding ways to keep the little one out of trouble. Noticed you were also a Hot Dad, so I had to take a look. Good stuff and now I am following.
That's the third must-have for every dad. WD-40, Duct Tape, and Juice Boxes!
That sounds like the best advice I've ever heard.
If that's what I get for ruining a party and throwing a tantrum, I'll go do that now! I want a juice box!!!!
LOL Oh I have those days like... I don't know.... once a day?
Geez. Are you one of the parents I blog about?
:)
ROL...do whatcha gotta do!!!
Wise words, sir....
Sounds like paybacks are coming at an early age. I feel your pain brother. Well, 2-year-olds who are tired and hungry don't seem to be able to reason or understand rational talk. Neither do 41 yr olds. I get hungry it is over. I bonk and all rational action I may know as an adult {term used loosely } goes out the door until sustenance is found.
MY 5yr old stomped his feet and started to scream as though I was kidnapping him in the middle of target over a freaking pretzel.
Over the shoulder -out the door and to car as fast as possible. check for security. drive away fast. OMG I am going to turn him into a pretzel.
so thats what i have been doing wrong! LOL cute pic jay!
Yep, I'd say that's really accurate!
Classic picture you've got there. I love it. I'm storing this idea in the back of my mind for future use. Thank you for the free tip. :)
I'm a firm believer in "whatever it takes to shut them up"! You can send my mother of the year award to...
