Interesting! You guys always come up with great stuff!

I can do the celebrity mocking thing pretty well.

Sounds interesting! I won't be able to check it out this week, but I'll try to remember it for next week.

Unfortunately, I'm not a giving person, and in my world, it IS all about me. Great idea though. For those bloggers who aren't sick like me.

Cajoh said...

Looking forward to seeing everybody's highlight. Will you be offering a badge that can be put on the sidebar— I think the picture is a bit too wide for mine.

I'm trying to figure out what it says about me that I think I'd only be able to do the "roast" type posts. Hmm...

This is great idea Jay. Kind of like the Pink Ribbon tribute I did about my college friends wife who kicked breast cancers ass. if you have not read it, it is a good one. find it in my Top shelf. I am in bro.

Jay @halftime lessons said...

Kristina - Yes, you can...I know your work well.

Jen, we will be here when the muse visits you!

Cat, you ARE sick, and I am a big fan of that.

Cajoh- you bet...I am working on the badge right now...doesnt fit very well on My sidebar either! The ones I made are obviously meant for the end of a post, but I will have a sidebar button available asap.

Anji and Jori- Woohoo! U RoX0rZ, as the kids say.

Leigh, then I would say that your posts will probably be pretty popular...everyone loves to read a great bloodbath. ;-)

Mariah - Awesome...I smell a tribute to grandma coming?

Liz- fantastic, I have been stalking you more and more lately!

Tony - Awesome...and I do remember that post of yours well...that's exactly the type of thing we are aiming for. Thanks for coming along, pal.

wow jay, you be smart! I always hate it when i comment and see that you have already answered the comments....i feel so left out. whaaa. ok, enough about me...I will play!!

Jenni said...

Pretty fabulous idea!!!

Is it wrong that I hope everyone picks me to write about so that ever though it isn't about me, it is still about ME?

Just kidding.

No, I'm not.

Pick me! Pick me!

Young Momma said...

I love the idea! I hate that it's on Tuesday though!! lol Can I post it on Thursday?? I do Thankful Tuesdays at my site - which aren't really about me all together... lol!! I do love the bar with the Willow Tree figurine pictured... do you think you'll make that one into a button??

Petra a.k.a The Wise (*Young*) Mommy said...

Cool! Thanks for the new way to get out of coming up for ideas to write about!

You rock--Happy 2009!

I found your blog...somehow..and I love it. Being on bed rest I read the whole thing...either it was that good or I am stuck on bed on pain pills..lol.
I love the idea of the Tuesday Tribute...I know just what mine will be about.

Tara @ Feels Like Home said...

This sounds like a great idea! I'm not sure how often I'll be able to participate because Tuesdays are already a busy blog day for me, but I will try. :)

kel said...

I love this idea! you guys are brilliant!

Jay @halftime lessons said...

Cajoh- Just got the sidebar button up.

Elaine- Sure, remember us any tuesday!

Brooks- I know...too many, right? kinda like going to Cheesecake Factory and they hand you that GIANT menu...just give me 3 things to pick from, and make them OUTSTANDING.

Angie- From the Goddess of Wordless Wednesday's mouth herself!! So glad you'll play...you certainly have enough kids to keep Tributing for a while... ;-)

LOL Amy- When I saw your comment I knew I had to come back..I'll always make return visits for the "Twisted Sisters"...

Jenni- It's absolutely fine to want the spotlight...I will be pushing everyone to make the inaugural week Of Tuesday's Tribute to be about the Jenni Bean.

Young Momma - I will try to make that one into a button soon, I promise...might take some creativity, of which I have very little...

LOL Petra...Think of the tuesday as the day that you dont have to think as hard as you clearly usually do!! Just sit back, shine your light on someone else, and do some "research" on those intimate apparatus posts...;-)

Amy B- I found you yesterday too! So sorry to hear of your bed rest...if it helps you at all I can find a quick home for some of those pain pills...Sorry, there's me thinking about ME again...

Tara - knowing your popularity, I fully understand...any time you want to slum it with us you are welcome! ;-)

Kel- Brilliant? You are being too sweet...oh wait...you were talking about Deb weren't you?? Dammit, I'm smart too...I gotts college, even.

I like the idea but dang it I just wrote a great tribute a couple of days ago. Worthiness is hard to find these days. ;)

Jay @halftime lessons said...

Kristen- Glad I found you too! I always wondered where those great necklaces came from, and now I know where to go Valentines shopping!

LOL BlueViolet- I know what you mean...I have written a bunch, and I am trying to think if anyone would notice if I recycled some! No need, I guess, there is still lots of great stuff to point at!

I am totally in. It is easier to talk about someone else then to come up with original content about yourself all the time. I agree with Brooks though...I'm having touble picking just one button ;)

Man...you are quite the saint these days!

This sounds like fun. I think I'll take part next week, well, not next week, but the week after that. This is a wonderful idea.

Jenners said...

Cool idea. I hope to participate at some point. One of my new blog resolutions is not to participate in a Mr. Linky thing unless I think I have the time to visit almost all of the participants (or at least 40 or so).

And someone had fun making buttons!!!

KatBouska said...

Does Word verification drive you ape shit crazy?

You do realize your becoming that weird word verification comment leaver guy, right? Every time I see it in your comments I giggle (and clap)...

Brandy said...

But I have Happy Bunny socks that says it IS all about me. Have I been living a lie for so long??

Kidding...I'd like to participate but no promises. Thanks for the heads up. I will definitely keep it in mind for Tuesday posts.

Stacy Uncorked said...

Oh, you can count me in! I have trouble talking about myself - which is why I generally focus my writing on my Little Princess...and while she is a constant source of entertainment, I'm sure there are people out there that don't really appreciate the workings of a 6-year old mind! LOL!! It'll be really nice to shine that oh-so-bright spotlight on someone else...just have to figure out who my first victim....I mean, deserving person will be! ;)

Candice said...

Hmm, I think I can handle this. My favorite past time is talking about others. ;)

I may not do it EVERY Tuesday because that would require a commitment on my part, and that just freaks me out. I'm sure you understand.

Much love,

Nick Nolte

What a fantastic idea! I'm going to try to do this, maybe not every Tuesday - but when I can.

Glad you found (& liked) my blog :) I'm looking forward to making my way through yours x

I'm excited about this! I never did the Mission Mondays, so I'm really looking forward to doing this.

Darn it!! I should have saved today's post for tomorrow. I thought it had to be nice...

Now I've got to write something else.

You can bet it won't a tribute to you or Deb!

I love this idea. I am a little late in the game but better late than never right?

I'm in for next week too. I'm so glad to have stumbled over here today. (Don't ask how I haven't been here before, I think that's just weird and don't know how in the world it happened.)

I've been writing so much about Tuesday, thinking of her all the time. I was hoping her story would continue to touch people and move them to DO something for other people. Because it's not all about me :)

So thank you. This is a beautiful idea.

I'm sorry but I dont know how to do what it is you need us to do? Can i put a link to this on my facebook page? How? I have something I'd really like to post about... you may already know the peole but I couldn't see anything about them on your site. It is a perfect start for your Tuesday's Tribute as the family have lost their daughter to cancer and her name was Tuesday! I do not know this family but I have been following their blog... http://www.half12.blogspot.com/
Thank you for helping if you can. Love from Jo x

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded. - Emerson
