I taught her how to do this. And she's scaring me now. I'm starting to see her, but not recognize her. She's the same baby who wouldn't sleep, and yet a whole new little girl I don't understand. I gotta be honest, my friend, you are really scaring me. I know I'm not the first Daddy to ever go through this, but it doesn't seem to matter. You are the first and only girl I will ever go through this with, and it is already happening too fast. WAY too fast.
It's ok if you want to go slow. I do too.
Also Thanks to 5 Minutes for Mom for "Wordless" Wednesday...I always have such a problem being wordless...

Yes, they do grow up fast don't they?
Kimber, you are not kidding. I am seriously scared to death of what's ahead, and life after she doesnt need me every day anymore.
aww - don't they just grow in a blink of an eye!
it does all seem to fly by at the speed of light...but remember that a little girl ALWAYS needs her daddy. even if she insists she can do it all on her own!
aww, I seriously resemble that remark. My baby is 7 and I'm not ready!! what a great sweet post... good d♥ddy!! And she will alwayyyys need you....LA
Ah, so sweet. It's such a fun adventure, watching them grow.
We always always need our daddy, silly boy. She is so lucky. I know. I had someone just like you that I called Daddy. Only he never blogged.
Oh my gosh....this is WONderful!!!!! [my firstborn will be 40 this year...so, enjoy the young years...they grow so fast.]
My Wordful is an update on Winston's Ladybug stool. Come on over if you can, I so love visitors and their comments!!! Happy day to you.
Be afraid, be very afraid. This is only the (sometimes beautiful) beginning.
I am certain my husband shares your view. He keeps asking if there isn't something we could do to make her boobs stop growing... :)
Little girls always need their daddys.
I wish there was some way to slow them down. The only thing I know of though is to just enjoy each moment as it comes.
Sure, I know how this is gonna go...
She will always need me.
But there will come a time when she needs me, but also needs me to stay the hell out of the way.
Maybe if I chain her to cement blocks in the basement instead, she will have one more obstacle between her and the outside world...
Excuse me, friends, I have to get to Home Depot.
It is ridiculous how fast they grow up! My oldest is going to be 9 in a couple weeks and I would swear he was a 4 pound preemie last week...
You so captured the joy and sadness of parenting in one little post. If you do your job right, this is what you get -- that and your heart ripped out in tiny little pieces to see your baby disappear.
How I understand. How I understand.
It sucks how quickly the grow. And it is so hard to enjoy their milestones when you're depressed about them getting bigger.
Awww you made me cry!! They do grow up WAY too fast. It is hard to sometimes slow down and take a breather to smell the roses!! Enjoy it while you can!!
I will have a 14 yr old next week- a small consolation- I don't think he could put that puzzle together!
They do grow up way to dang fast. My girls do puzzles on the kids section of the natgeo website! The pictures are great and it helps them learn how to use the mouse! Kids start using computers so fast in school now. My oldest was doing power point presentations in 3rd grade!
She'll always be daddy's little girl no matter how old she is.
It's amazing how fast they grow. One day they're babies and the next day they're leaving home.
Treasure every moment you have because they are precious.
lol, cement blocks, you crack me up jay.....i'm going through something similar with my pumpkin_seed. she is 12.....12!!!!! i can't believe my baby is 12. she's getting locked in her room any day now! ;) e have to stock up on ramen noodles and hot pockets first, doh!!
This is exactly what has me pondering #3!
awwww that is so sweet!!!
So true... it all happens way to fast! Time to have another I guess!! Whatcha think?
Great photo, by the way. You nailed it!

How very sweet and how very true. It's over in the blink of an eye.
Awww...why do they grow up so fast...?!
My 4 yr old refused to let me help him get dressed yesterday:(
Soon enough she will be hitting you up for money to by belly shirts and slutty skirts. Good luck!
you said it, it goes way too fast!
That fairy scares me, too.
Wait, is that not what you meant?
I'm female and mine still scares me a bit.
you expect us to believe you taught her how to put together puzzles?? that would mean you were capable of such... and THAT is something i'm not buying.
they do grow up fast. better brush up on your geometry and chemistry now.
aww. there seems to be a theme of " i am not ready for this" going around. want to start a support group with me?
Awww! That was so sweet! Sometimes it seems they are growing too fast, and other, not fast enough! My mom hates it when I talk like that!! lol
awww SO SWEET. love it!
Aaahhh, Love this photo! Makes me think of my little one and my not-so-little one. My 12 year old used to be like this, now she is wearing make-up, high heels, and occasionally asks to borrow MY clothes and jewelry. WOW! They do grow up so fast!
My hubby is already starting to go through this with our daughter and she's only 16 months.
I agree with Jill Jill Bo Bill, daughters always need their daddy, that never changes.
There is an age when children just love puzzles. Both of our grandchildren are at that age and it's really fun doing puzzles together.
First it is the magic of puzzling, then the magic of wickedly debating every possible topic to gain their advantage.Well so they think. Jay, my 8yr old is debating at a High School level.I made to that level as well. Then was told I could not debate any longer, because apparently, FU !! was argumentum ad hominem. I digress. They do grow fast. Oy Vey
It only gets worse. Mine is 8 and wekk, she does alot of things that scare the crap out of me.
They do grow up so fast. Sometimes my kids seem far more mature than I am. Well, they probably are more mature than I am.
I'm glad you enjoy her. Every child should have a parent who adores them.
Whatever you do......don't blink. I tell myself that everyday.
AND.......you and Deb knew each other in HS? :)
