Ok, somebody owes me something good.

Last week, like a supportive husband, I sat with my wife and watched Mamma Mia. Effectively, I discarded the remaining shreds of my manhood, and sat painfully through the worst of all Meryl Streep movies.

Fast forward to last night, where I found myself on the couch again with the missus watching Sex and The City, The Movie. One step better, although a pretty frickin' small step.

So now I sit and contemplate the sacrifices I have made in the name of love this week, and I want you to know that I AM keeping score. And you owe me. And you know what currency I value. Yes, I'm done being romantic. Pay up.

Oh crap...here she comes...

"Hi Honey! I know...it was great wasn't it?! Good ol' Carrie Bradshaw...love that gal. Aww, love you too, sweetheart. Foot rub?"

I'm fucking dying over here. Just a little at a time.

What a good hubby you are. Im sure your wife has told you that it is very sexy to be "in touch" with your feminity. What do you have planned tonight? Pedicures?

You know, I now feel that I can use the "F" word instead of "Flipping" in my blogs because I respect you as a father and a husband. The fact that you used the word in your blog is inspiring to me. I can now come out of my shell. :) Never mind the fact that you watch chick flicks... :)

So, so very funny! We rented Mama Mia and when the young girl broke out in song...My hubby with a panicked striken face remarked "Is this a musical?"
"Yea!?"
"Crap!" was all he said for the rest of the movie!
TeeHee!

Okay, even >I< wouldn't be caught dead watching Mama Mia.

I'm so disappointed in you. Would you like to borrow my balls?

We all know what you want. Don't try to hide behind Mamma Mia and Carrie Bradshaw.

I have not yet seen Mama Mia, but have heard mixed reviews about it. So I can somewhat understand your pain while watching it.
SITC, however, was a kick ass movie. You should have been honored your wife wanted to share it with you.
And just so you know, I heard a little rumor that there is a sequel in the works. Maybe you can enjoy that one on the big screen. : )

I watched Mamma Mia and I wanted to slit my throat when it was over. That movie was horrible on SOOOOO many levels. My hubby refused to watch and I can't blame him!!

I think my husband should feel pretty damn lucky I don't ask him to watch movies like this! But then, I haven't even seen them. Hhhhmmm...I'll keep them in mind when I am feeling particularly evil.

lol!!! That's awesome. Good hubby. So loving. ;) You totally just gave me another Chandler Bing moment though! ;)

I had something witty, but I'm laughing too hard at Young Mama's comment.

You are SO Chandler Bing!

(I'm with you, I think SITC totally sucked Manolos, and I loved the show.)

LOL!!! She's probably keeping score too.

hilarious! my hubby said the same thing about sex in the city. i think he was hoping it was a little more 'sex' and a little less 'love story.' i loved it though;)

Isn't there another tv in the house? Surely you are allowed to touch a remote somewhere! lol
Hang in there... or speak your mind more often :)

You are SO funny! And you aren't fooling any of us, the Sex and the City movie was funny! Admit it...you LOVED it!

I watched The Godfather with my husband. The frickin Godfather for pete's sake. I never remember just how badly I hate that movie til he makes me watch it. So there.

Just think of it as early payment towards that big birthday your gonna miss....watching 2 movies BARELY makes up for that one. Hahaha

And my hubby is lucky, I would much rather watch a gory, horror movie than a love story.

You might want to get your testosterone level checked soon. Just an idea.

My husband just finished watching the figure skating championships with me...he feels your pain.

Hey, if we can watch blood and guts and incredibly phony car chases, surely you can get through Mamma Mia!!! lol Now, perhaps, you know what WE go through for you guys.

And we keep score too!

Wanna borrow my copy of Death Race? I haven't seen either of those...thank God...
(but you ARE a very good husband)

Hee hee Chandler Bing...

Make her watch something manly with you.

Even I didn't see either of those movies. Too girly for me. Blah.

Wow. You should be sainted or something. Even I refuse to watch the SATC movie and I'm a girl.

You deserve a blow job during the Super Bowl or something.

The Eadle Family said...

haha. I'm sure she appreciates it. I would have to bribe mine with stuffed crust pizza. And a lot of it.

Juliana said...

Wow...impressive. You are watching movies I am not even sure that I would be watching. I think that you deserve an award for this! What in the world is she going to need to do to pay you back for this insane award winning hubby stuff?

Semi-Slacker Mom said...

I love that. The only chick-flick I can get my hubby to watch is The Notebook.
BTW, he would never watch Mamma Mia, he hates musicals. I love them, can you come watch it with me?

CaJoh said...

Don't you read the fine print on the marriage license?? Oh, and should I mention that it is printed on ink that only women can read. My wife reminds me of them all the time— If I am not mistaken one of them is "to watch those shows she loves"

Jen said...

suck it up man, she's a good wife.

SuZ said...

Have no fear, I've made my hubby sit through SATC the movie many times and he's still a man. :)

Dude, I'm so waiting for my wife of the year trophy. Been cooking my man his favorite mom meals for a month and I got nothing.

Had to delete the other comment. I was giving you a birthday idea for her, but that was another post. I think all the time in the kitchen has gone to my head.
