Tuesday's Tribute changes...for the better...

Ok, a couple of things...

First off, I am sick. No pity party needed, I just wanted to thank whichever one of you it was who sneezed in my mouth this week. 'preciate it.

Next, A Problem:

I have been experiencing a problem with posting...when I publish a post, it takes more than 8 hours to hit Google Reader OR that sidebar widget that reads "8 hours ago"...Have any of you ever had that problem? At first I thought it was a feedburner problem, but now I dont think it is. Any ideas?

Tuesday's Tribute

I will be instituting a couple of changes to the Tuesday's Tribute program from now on... The first being that I will be offering a prompt each week from now on, to those of you who aren't exactly sure of what to post about, but who like to be a part of what the Tuesday Tribute is about. Specifically, that on Tuesday, it's not about you.

Your Tuesday's Tribute options:

1. Anything/Anyone you feel is worthy of a POSITIVE tribute. Friend? Family? Marshmallow Fluff?

2. Anything/Anyone you feel is worthy of a NEGATIVE tribute. Politician? Celebrity?

3. And this week's prompt: a blog or website that you love. I love it when you recommend blogs or websites, it's like a treasure hunt. I have one that I really want to share this week, so this is what I will be doing.

And the big news:

Each week from now on I will be picking my favorite Tribute from all the submissions, and featuring the link to that post in a newfangled sidebar button...thingy. Whether I love your writing, whatever you are tributing, or if you just made me laugh out loud, i will pick one post per week, and feature it in my center bar directly above. Just a little linky love each week to thank you for participating in Tuesday's Tribute.

Have fun with it.

We are so meant to be BFF. I, too, am sick. And I, too, posted a blog today about changes.

And....

well, it just goes on and on.

Great ideas!!!! I hope I can remember to take part. Well...not only remember, but also be organized enough...which is a lot to expect from someone who uses ellipses like they're going out of style. Is that what they're called?

I'm with you on T.T. - cool changes.

And the sick thing, need I remind you what you do for a living? I'm surprised you're not more sick than my kindergartener.

Must be all the germ-killing alcohol.

Feel better soon!!!

P.S. that delay thing totally happens to me. I've found it usually occurs on posts that I've scheduled. If you go back into edit, resave post as "draft," then schedule a new publish time like 2 or 3 minutes later, it will pop up on the blog rolls. I was thinking it was Feedburner as well. Maybe a Blogger thing? I'm afraid that's not a very scientific answer - but know you're not alone. E

Great idea - I the idea of the prompt and can't wait to see what wonderful sites/blogs we are directed to. (Are we garunteed top spot if we name you as our favorite blog/site?)

Hope you feel better soon!!

i like it...and you know i love the challenge! yes! i have mine all done for this week.

Uh, I'm not totally sure about the delay thing, but I know that in the settings of my google reader there is a place where you can set when the published item will display. So, if you publish at 1am and you have your settings set to display at 6am, then anyone who goes directly to your site will see the new post but anyone who reads you from a reader won't get the post there until 6am. Make sense? I don't know if this is what's happening with you but it might be worth a peek.

And, I've never done the Tuesday Tribute but maybe now I'll start.

I got mine lined up. I'm doing a combo post and combining Tuesday's Tribute with The Spin Cycle.

With regards to your delay, you may want to check your post times. Also, you may want to ping your feed through feedburner just to refresh it.

The opening of your post about had me spit tea out of my own damn nose! LOL Your hilarious.

About the delay.. it happens to me a good bit.. Sometimes I go in as I'm editing the post and then republish it and it works and then sometiemes it does not.. Kinda a hit or miss thing.

Great idea about Tuesday tribute.. I'm going to start brain storming now. :o)

Hope you feel better.

Great idea to give us prompts! I like that!

Do you take payments for picking your favourite one?

I'm sick too. I think you snuck into my house and sneezed in my mouth, just to spread the love of whoever did it to me.

And the google reader thing, I add myself to reader and then refresh it after I post.
That's all I know how to do.

You know, I have the same reader problem! Actually, I see the delay in showing up on people's blog rolls also, wtf!?

Jenners said...

Oh...that was me. I sneezed in your mouth. Sorry about that.

And I've had tons of problems getting my stuff "published" so it shows up! Stupid Blogger. I know I should just go to Wordpress. I know it!

And I like the changes you are instituting to the Tribute. : )

Can I write a tribute to Mr. Tom Pan? Or no?

posthumous pointer
To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children; to earn the approbation of honest citizens and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to give of one's self; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived - this is to have succeeded. - Emerson
