Hello friends. This is the part where I sound like a total stick in the mud. A fuddy duddy. A complete jackhole. When I started blogging, I did a couple of MeMes, or tags, or whatever you want to call them. And that was fine, but then I found I didn't really like spending my writing time that way. So now, I simply don't do them. Like most folks, I like to get awards, but I decided too that I don't like feeling like I have to jump through hoops to get one. So let me just put it like this...If you would like to give me an award or a button, I would love to post it here for you, with a linkback to your blog. Absolutely free awards for special things MAY get placement on my homepage. It is really sweet of you to think of me, and I thank you. However, I probably won't tell you ten things about me, or pass that award on to 10 of my "closest friends." That's just how I roll, and if you read my blog you'll find out WAY TMI anyway... But again, if you have a button you would like to see here, lemme know! Ill be happy to put it up! You could even make it easier on me and email me the posting code!

Well, I just started blogging a few months ago and got my first award a few days ago. I get what you're saying here! I think awards are "neat and all" but it feels more like an "ego thing" or a "drag your friend in on somthing" .... kind of thing to me. I like you're approach. I'll have to think this one over. But, I just wanted to say thank you for putting it out there!
Blessings,
Kara
I'm glad the world is catching on. Meme's (who named them that??) are a way to fill people's blogs when they have writer's block. Moreover, it's basically a way to get people to go to their blog and get some traffic. That's the cold truth--no one wants to know 10 things that are in your refrigerator--they want 10 people to visit their blog. I sound bitter. No. Here's the thing: I've worked hard to get my meager "following" and I love my readers. I visit them and comment as much as possible. I don't need an award to do that. :)
Last week, a blogger wrote to me and asked me how she could get an ad for her blog on mine and how much it would cost. I love direct. No meme, no tag-you're-it...she just asked. Guess what? She designed a button and I put her up in my side bar and she's getting traffic! For free. (no I won't do this for everyone now because then my name is sucker)BECAUSE she didn't make me play a game. I only play games with my kids.
I'm rambling here as usual but I'm glad you stopped the meme madness.
