I think it's time. Time we got it aaalllllll out there. And I will start.
We live in a nice home. Privileged by some standards, ghetto by others, but it's home. The thing is, no matter where you are in the house, the design is such that you can hear a pin drop just about anywhere. My kids are growing up with air purifiers and humidifiers in their rooms not in an effort to saturate and filtrate the joint, but to create white noise to cover other noises in the house and preserve our rest. And other activities. I digress.
Well, when my son was born, we began taking steps to keep him asleep that included ceasing any activity in the house that might ruse him. And that included, you guessed it...
"Don't flush when you're done...wait till he wakes up."
Without getting into too much detail, I will say that habit begets habit, and now we have a problem. We are relatively clean people, you see, but we are scared to death of random visits by friends and strangers alike.
For if you are to ring our bell one sunny day, and then listen for movement within our home, you may hear frantic footsteps followed by a couple of toilets purging themselves of their contents. Please hang on, we'll be right there.
Will you join in? It's time we got all this out on the table, and empathized with each other. Please share a blogger mommy/daddy home oddity, and help us feel part of normalcy again...we are not here to judge, simply to support.
By the way, I have my first contest coming this week. and it's gonna be a doozy. Keep your eyes peeled...and in the meantime, head over to Kristina's blog, she has a contest going right now...ends soon...HURRY.
