At the risk of being a bit Moonie, today the universe used a couple of people to remind me of some things.
About the importance of personal, physical contact.
Learning about someone's life, and from their experience.
Discovering that the happy milestones of your life have been visited by some, and your hard times lay ahead for others.
I, like many, keep a close eye on my life's wins and losses. But I'm doing a bad job giving the wins their weight. Today you gave me pause, enough pause to shelve some of my dejection, and again consider my blessings.
My mom always said that I would be able to count the number of true friends in my life on one hand. And she's right. But to put a person on that hand is to saddle them with a permanent expectation, and I'll rarely do that.
But the universe keeps handing me people. Really neat people. And I don't feel the need to label them, I just want it to be known I appreciate them.
So thanks, universe. Hope you liked Voyager 2...sorry about the Chuck Berry.

Hi my friends. No, I am not back, I am simply phoning in my weekly post to keep my BlogHer friends happy.
But this week instead of putting up a picture of my kids and pretending they're cute, I have a simple request for you.
See, my friend Lisa from Crazy Adventures in Parenting has a chance to win a promotion that will help her get to BlogHer this year. And all she needs is your vote. It will only take you 4 seconds, and I know each of you would want the same kind of support if you were in her shoes...so will you please help her?
Here's the link to vote.
Thanks to all of you, and have a wonderful week.
